About the position

The Principal Technical Project Manager at Mercury Systems is responsible for managing the development and implementation of the company's products and services. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while also meeting customer expectations. The manager will oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, acting as the primary liaison between engineering teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and implementation process of the company's products and services.
  • Coordinate integration across functional teams including Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, and Quality Assurance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the engineering project team and stakeholders such as Marketing and Sales.
  • Accountable for the success of assigned projects, ensuring they are within budget and on schedule.
  • Develop project plans, risk mitigation strategies, and resource requirements for timely delivery.
  • Oversee project deliverables and adjust priorities as necessary to resolve key issues.
  • Interact with key project team members and stakeholders to synchronize efforts and ensure satisfaction.
  • Work with Senior Management to resolve resource and organizational conflicts.
  • Analyze complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Requirements

  • Project Management skills in new hardware product development.
  • Effective communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results.
  • Familiarity with scheduling, tracking, and risk management techniques and tools.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements across an organization.
  • Knowledgeable in all phases of the product development life cycle from requirements through manufacturing release.
  • Strong team building, interpersonal, and personnel development skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with product security features and functions.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with system and subsystem integration.
