About the position

The Principal Technology Architect at FOX is responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable, and innovative architectures across various business units. This role requires a strong foundation in Information, Security, Network, and Broadcast Technologies, with a focus on collaboration, automation, and strategic alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in broadcast network protocols and network security to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Information Security and Networking teams to define, implement, and maintain secure network architectures.
  • Partner with the network team to develop and execute a comprehensive network architecture framework.
  • Manage relationships with key vendors to ensure service levels meet expectations and validate technical requirements.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and optimize infrastructure performance.
  • Collaborate with the Critical Response team and PMO to manage projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Develop and maintain processes for up-to-date documentation of network, security, information, and broadcast infrastructures.
  • Promote the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve team efficiency.
  • Mentor and support cross-functional teams, fostering skill development and collaboration.
  • Work closely with the VP of Enterprise Technology to align architecture with the broader IT strategy.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Expert knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, MPLS), network security principles, and best practices.
  • Strong experience in automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, Git).
  • Proven experience in architecting, deploying, and supporting security architectures such as NGFW, ZTNA, IPS/IDS.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, including TACACS, RADIUS, SSL/TLS, SAML, OIDC.
  • Knowledge of DCIM, CMDB, IPAM, and Database systems.
  • Broadcast system experience including SMPTE 2110 / Broadcast IP Routing deployments.
  • Skilled in developing, defining, and enforcing IT security policies.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware NSX).
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on operational efficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of SDN technologies, Microsegmentation, and Spine-leaf architecture.
