The Principle - Instrumentation and Control Test Engineer at Westinghouse plays a crucial role in leading a team of engineers to conduct integrated testing activities on Safety Instrumentation and Control Systems for Commercial Nuclear Plant equipment. This position is pivotal in ensuring that the equipment meets the required safety and operational standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, controlling, and leading a team of engineers through the system and integrated functional testing of deliverable plant equipment. This includes developing test procedures, performing testing, and writing comprehensive test reports to verify and validate Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems, ensuring that all test coverage aligns with the I&C system requirements. In addition to leading testing activities, the candidate will also participate in and spearhead the development and enhancement of test methods, systems, and tools related to testing, system verification, validation, and quality assurance. The role requires a strong focus on developing test strategies, leading the creation of test procedures from System Design and Software Requirements documents, and conducting logic diagram analysis to formulate test cases. The engineer will also be responsible for planning and executing test programs, authoring and reviewing test reports, supporting root cause investigations of defects, and coordinating defect tracking efforts. Furthermore, the position involves maintaining project schedules related to test programs and execution, ensuring requirements traceability to specific test cases, and developing detailed schedules and budgets for test activities as part of larger projects. Evaluating engineers' performance and fostering their development is also a key responsibility of this role.
