About the position

The Principal Test & Evaluation Engineer at Anduril Industries is responsible for leading the testing and evaluation of Command & Control (C2) software and hardware systems. This role involves developing test strategies, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all testing aligns with design specifications and operational requirements. The engineer will oversee the execution of tests, analyze results, and recommend improvements, all while working in a fast-paced and innovative environment that directly impacts military capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement test strategies for Command & Control (C2) systems.
  • Act as principal test engineer for software and hardware systems including Lattice and small autonomous vehicles.
  • Collaborate with program management and engineering leads to develop requirements and communicate test campaign schedules.
  • Plan and execute T&E of hardware and software, focusing on resource planning and conducting various tests.
  • Lead a team in executing full system level T&E of hardware and software.
  • Analyze test results and recommend enhancements or corrective actions.
  • Oversee the Command & Control (C2) Systems product team in understanding system capabilities.
  • Conduct subsystem, ground, and flight testing at test ranges.
  • Manage the use of test ranges and coordinate with external agencies for testing activities.
  • Ensure safe operation and rigorous evaluation of all test efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a lead test conductor/test director for C2 software and hardware systems.
  • 7 years of experience focusing on RF communications/tactical datalinks, developing requirements, test planning, and execution.
  • Experience integrating and conducting tests with various datalink architectures and networks.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as required for test planning and execution.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret-Level security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Prior experience with software code/script building using programming languages such as Go, Java, C++, Python, JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of advanced RF testing techniques and analysis of collected data.
  • Experience with MIL-STD testing protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and CAD modeling.
