Principal TPM, Topline Forecasting

About the position

The Topline Forecast team in the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization at Amazon is dedicated to answering critical questions regarding the company's growth and product lines. This team utilizes statistical methods to develop data pipelines, build predictive models, and deploy automated software solutions to provide forecasting insights to senior business leaders. We are seeking a motivated Principal Technical Program Manager to drive the next generation of forecasting and insights products. The ideal candidate will possess analytical skills to develop insights, creativity to act on these insights, technical expertise to translate ideas into designs, and strong interpersonal and project management skills to lead teams across various organizations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, software engineers, and product teams to deliver high-quality, scalable products globally. You will work with product teams to optimize resource and technology use, assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, identify necessary resources, and develop schedules to ensure timely project completion. Additionally, you will assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, make trade-offs, balance business needs with technical constraints, and encourage risk-taking to maximize business benefits. Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement forecasting insights using statistical methods.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, software engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable products.
• Assemble project teams and assign responsibilities for project completion.
• Identify appropriate resources needed for projects and develop schedules.
• Assess risks and anticipate bottlenecks in project timelines.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams.

• Experience building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules across teams.
