About the position

The Principal Trainer II is responsible for developing IT application training programs, specifically for Epic applications. This role involves creating classroom and web-based training content, managing training data, and executing a train-the-trainer program. The Principal Trainer also coordinates end-user support activities and collaborates with Application Analysts to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop IT application-specific training programs, including Epic application training.
• Create classroom and web-based training content.
• Build training data in the environment for effective training delivery.
• Execute the train-the-trainer program for credentialed trainers.
• Deliver in-classroom training as needed.
• Coordinate end-user support activities and collaborate with Application Analysts.
• Conduct workflow analysis and curriculum design and development for training programs.
• Identify gaps in training content and develop necessary materials for RWJBH workflows.
• Develop role-specific lesson plans and competency exams for end-users.
• Manage the training environment build, including creating users and scenarios.

Requirements

• Associate degree required.
• 2+ years of experience as a Principal Trainer.
• Experience with building courses, curricula, and assessments in EPIC-EHR.
• Certification as an Epic Principal Trainer is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Operational experience in the application area is preferred.
• Knowledge of current workflows and processes within the hospital or ambulatory setting.
