About the position
The Principal Transmission Engineer - High Voltage Design Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and managing high-voltage transmission projects for a leading energy infrastructure company. This position involves collaboration with project managers, overseeing engineering activities, and contributing to the strategic development of transmission projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Managers to define and shape project requirements
- Manage Engineering of Record (EOR) relationships
- Support narrative and commercial strategy development
- Analyze ISO requirements and emerging industry trends
- Participate in competitive transmission project proposals
- Oversee HV/EHV transmission line design activities
- Contribute to wildfire mitigation strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 10+ years of transmission line design experience (115kV and above)
- Professional Engineering certification strongly preferred
- Experience with FERC Order 1000 competitive proposals
- Strong understanding of ISO requirements
- Commercial and contract negotiation experience
- Proven project leadership abilities
