About the position

The Principal UI/UX Software Engineer at Bluestaq is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative user interfaces for commercial e-commerce platforms. This role emphasizes a creative approach to UI/UX design, ensuring that interfaces are functional, engaging, and tailored for an intuitive user experience. The engineer will collaborate closely with other engineers and product teams to deliver aesthetically appealing and user-friendly solutions, drawing from best practices in both web and game design.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand user needs and translate these into innovative, intuitive, and visually appealing interface designs.
• Develop and maintain user interfaces using Flutter and Angular, ensuring responsiveness and user-friendliness.
• Utilize front-end development languages such as Dart, JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks like Angular, incorporating libraries like NGRX, RXJS, ng-bootstrap, Firebase, and AngularFire2.
• Incorporate elements of game design to create engaging and interactive user experiences that captivate and retain users.
• Ensure UI/UX designs are optimized for performance and scalability across various software applications.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to maintain high standards of quality and usability.
• Stay current with the latest trends in UI/UX design, adopting new tools, technologies, and methodologies as appropriate.
• Work in an agile development environment, effectively managing priorities and delivering tasks within specified timelines.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven work history as a UI/UX Software Engineer or Frontend Developer, with a portfolio demonstrating both web application development and creative design capabilities.
• Strong technical proficiency in Flutter, Dart, JavaScript, and familiarity with AWS Repositories.
• Experience with front-end frameworks like Flutter, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• A deep understanding of responsive web design and UI/UX design principles, capable of working closely with designers to realize visually appealing and functional interfaces.
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git and in integrating user interfaces with server-side logic via RESTful APIs.
• A creative flair for incorporating elements of game design into web applications, enhancing interactivity and user engagement.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a team-oriented environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in game design, particularly in crafting engaging UI interactions in games or gamified applications.
• Advanced skills in additional programming languages such as Java, Python, or JS.
