About the position

Circle is seeking a Principal User Researcher to enhance its research practice by deeply understanding users and their needs. This role involves developing research strategies that inform product direction and strategy, collaborating with various teams, and advocating for user-centric design. The Principal User Researcher will play a key role in shaping the user research culture and ensuring that user insights drive product decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of users, their journeys, and needs in the web 3, crypto, and blockchain space.
• Build and promote a user research culture within the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate qualitative and quantitative data.
• Generate insights that influence medium and long-term product strategy.
• Craft narratives that foster empathy for users in decision-making processes.
• Act as a thought leader in user research and advocate for user needs.
• Contribute to the growth of the UX organization by implementing best practices and methodologies.

Requirements

• 10+ years of user research experience in an applied research setting or similar.
• Strong understanding of industry trends and issues to inform future vision.
• Proactive in identifying research opportunities and executing them.
• Ability to align key stakeholders with user needs through effective communication.
• Experience in navigating complex information and adapting to changing environments.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to drive business impact.
• Experience in mentoring and guiding fellow researchers and product teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in human behavior related fields such as Computer Science, HCI, Experimental Psychology, Sociology, Information Science, Economics, Political Science, or Mathematics.

• Base Pay Range: $187,500 - $240,000
