About the position

Circle is seeking a Principal User Researcher to lead its research practice, focusing on understanding user needs and driving product strategy. This role involves collaborating with various teams to integrate qualitative and quantitative data, shaping product direction, and advocating for user-centric design. The Principal User Researcher will contribute to building a strong research culture within the organization and ensure that user insights are at the forefront of product development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of users and their journeys in the web 3, crypto, and blockchain space.
  • Build and promote a user research culture within the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Generate insights that influence medium and long-term product strategy.
  • Craft narratives that build empathy for users in decision-making processes.
  • Act as a thought leader in user research and advocate for user needs.
  • Contribute to the growth of the UX organization by implementing best practices and methodologies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of user research experience in an applied research setting or similar.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and issues to inform future vision.
  • Proven ability to identify research opportunities and execute them effectively.
  • Experience in aligning stakeholders around user needs and insights.
  • Ability to impact product roadmaps by articulating user needs and identifying new opportunities.
  • Experience in navigating complex information and adapting to changing environments.
  • Strong storytelling skills to communicate research results effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in solving service design challenges for complex workflows.
  • Research mentorship experience for fellow researchers and product teams.
  • Advanced degrees (Masters or PhD) in human behavior-related fields.
