About the position

As a Principal Content Designer at our award-winning design team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of retail by creating purposeful content that enhances the experiences of customers, associates, suppliers, and partners worldwide. Your work will involve distilling complex problems into easy-to-understand experiences and championing high-quality content that drives the development of foundational tools and frameworks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to positively influence product design and foster an inclusive associate experience through effective storytelling and content best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Distill complex problems into easy-to-understand experiences.
  • Create and champion high-quality content for various stakeholders.
  • Drive the development of foundational tools, frameworks, and resources.
  • Collaborate with design, product, and business partners to shape products.
  • Present vision and content rationale compellingly to the team and leadership.
  • Identify, define, and implement solutions that integrate seamlessly into users' lives.
  • Craft strategic vision for the discipline and deliver on-brand product copy.
  • Lead by doing, inspiring, and coaching within the design organization.
  • Solicit and leverage design research and metrics to deliver impactful communications.
  • Think holistically through the entire ecosystem of end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 5 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, or related area.
  • 7 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, or related area if no degree is held.
  • 8+ years of experience in UX content strategy/design (not product marketing).
  • A portfolio with UX case studies showcasing craft, impact, and collaborative process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Design certification (e.g., IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate).
  • Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, or related area.
  • Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Background in retail, supply chain, eCommerce, or healthcare.
