About the position

The Principal UX Designer at Bayer will lead the design efforts for the web components of the Climate digital farming platform. This role is pivotal in shaping the user experience and information architecture, ensuring that the products meet customer expectations while driving innovation in digital agriculture. The designer will be responsible for crafting the product vision, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring other designers to deliver high-quality user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Own, evangelize, and execute the product roadmap, inspiring your team and rallying stakeholders.
• Define crisp product design direction and collaborate with partner design, product management, marketing, and engineering teams.
• Build strong relationships across all business units and disciplines to create win-win solutions.
• Leverage user research, insights, experimentation, and optimization to ensure products meet customer expectations.
• Set a high bar for usability, functionality, and visual appeal in user experiences.
• Consistently ship solutions that meet timing expectations, embracing rapid iterations as needed.
• Develop clear and effective practices & processes with product and engineering partners to ensure quick and efficient delivery.
• Communicate design decisions effectively, backed by data and customer insights.
• Mentor and uplift designers, cultivating a culture of collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a design-related field.
• 12+ years of UI/UX design experience.
• Available online portfolio showcasing design work.
• Experience with best practices for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design.
• Experience in lifecycle design projects from design strategy through execution.
• Proficiency with Figma.
• Proven record of delivering global products that simplify complex problems.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of the digital agriculture or related industries (strong preference).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to summarize complex technical programs into a broader compelling narrative.
