At Workday, we are on a mission to revolutionize the enterprise software market, and as a Principal Product Designer on the Hyper-automation Financial UX team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of enterprise-level experiences in AI/ML. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, demonstrating thought partnership and business acumen to influence product roadmaps. In this role, you will lead product design for a major area of our Financial Management suite, overseeing the entire design process from initial research and product definition to concepting, detailed design, prototyping, testing, and implementation with engineering teams. You will work on both new and established products, allowing you to think strategically about the broader product landscape while delivering tangible results to customers. Your influence will extend beyond your immediate projects as you develop frameworks that leverage the power of AI/ML across Workday, enhancing the overall user experience. Collaboration is key in this role. You will partner with other designers to elevate the quality of your designs and mentor fellow designers, championing a strong design culture within Workday. Your portfolio should showcase a blend of web and mobile design work, reflecting your extensive experience in product design, particularly in enterprise settings. You will be expected to articulate a clear product design vision through storytelling and presentations, ensuring alignment with product managers and engineering teams. Your ability to communicate effectively and your passion for collaboration will be vital as you work with cross-disciplinary teams to influence product roadmaps and support implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product design for a major area of the Financial Management suite of products.
  • Own the full design process from research and product definition to implementation.
  • Collaborate with product management and UX research to define initial product concepts.
  • Craft detailed designs, prototypes, and conduct user testing.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of designs.
  • Identify opportunities in a fast-paced environment and contribute to product roadmaps.
  • Develop frameworks to scale AI/ML capabilities across Workday.
  • Mentor other designers and promote a strong design culture within the organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product design experience, preferably with 2-3 years in enterprise product design.
  • 8+ years of experience collaborating with product managers and engineering teams.
  • 6+ years of leading major product design initiatives with medium to high complexity.
  • A portfolio showcasing a blend of web and mobile design work.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills to articulate design vision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence product roadmaps and support implementation.
  • Extensive product sense and understanding of well-crafted product experiences.
  • Knowledge of design tools, particularly Figma, and willingness to learn new tools.
  • BA/BS or MA/MS degree in human-computer interaction, human factors, psychology, or related field.
