About the position

The Principal UX Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of retail by crafting world-class user experiences. This position involves setting the vision for customer and associate experiences, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and utilizing the Design Thinking process to create intuitive and accessible designs. The role is based in Bentonville, Arkansas, within a state-of-the-art campus, and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's design initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision for customer and associate experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners.
  • Utilize the Design Thinking process to facilitate conversations and create concepts.
  • Run design sprints and build rapid prototypes.
  • Present design rationale and vision to cross-functional partners and leadership.
  • Craft intuitive and accessible experiences for users.
  • Lead a program of work and ensure seamless collaboration with partners.
  • Create experience strategies that align with user needs and business goals.
  • Solicit feedback from peers and stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Engage with the design research team to inform design decisions.
  • Rapidly prototype and experiment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Multitask across different projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Work with the Design System team to expand the component library and create scalable experiences.

Requirements

  • Degree in HCI, Information Architecture, Digital Design, or similar.
  • 5-7 years of experience in product design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing elegant and simplified design solutions.
  • Demonstrable track record of working cross-functionally to ship successful products.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Strategic mindset with a systems thinking approach.
  • Experience facilitating Design Thinking in cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to motivate teams.
