About the position

The Principal UX/UI Designer at Mr. Cooper is responsible for creating user-centered design solutions that align with business priorities and enhance digital and mobile adoption. This role involves leading design projects from conception through implementation, ensuring a focus on customer needs while delivering value to the business. The designer will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop complex, data-heavy products that require innovative interactions and clear communication of information.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as product design lead, collaborating with designers, product managers, architects, and engineers to achieve results.
  • Envision, design, and deliver end-to-end customer experience solutions across multiple products and platforms.
  • Create UI designs for responsive web and native mobile experiences, ensuring quality and accessibility standards are met.
  • Leverage design artifacts to create sketches, conceptual designs, storyboards, and prototypes.
  • Engage with developers and project managers throughout the design/build process to ensure optimal product outcomes.
  • Support customer insights initiatives, including usability testing and ethnographic research.

Requirements

  • 10 years of digital design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing web, mobile, and connected device design.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, and After Effects.
  • Strong visual design skills with the ability to create both low-fidelity sketches and high-fidelity visual designs.
  • Experience in creating storyboards, user process flows, and other design artifacts.
  • Solid understanding of digital capabilities, mobile application design, and development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
