About the position

The Principal Product Owner at Stryker will oversee and guide other Product Owners for a large, complex platform, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic direction. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that address customer needs and market trends. The Principal Product Owner will be responsible for high-level prioritization, stakeholder management, and scaling agile practices across multiple teams, ultimately driving product success and innovation in the healthcare technology space.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide other Product Owners for a large, complex platform.
• Execute the strategic direction for the product or product line.
• Provide guidance and leadership to other Product Owners, mentoring and coaching them.
• Manage high-level prioritization and decision-making for product areas.
• Lead in managing key stakeholders, particularly at the executive level.
• Keep a pulse on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
• Ensure alignment and coordination across multiple teams working on products.
• Scale agile practices across multiple teams or the entire organization.
• Identify risks that could impact product success and devise mitigation strategies.
• Solve complex problems that arise during the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of overall experience with software and product development and processes.
• 5+ years of experience with databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DynamoDB).
• Strong understanding of Cloud Architecture, security, and software design.
• Self-motivated, requiring little direction to achieve complex goals.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in cloud software product management.
• 5+ years of experience with messaging queue services (Kafka, Amazon MSK).
• Agile Scrum Product Owner certification.
• Presentation skills with a high level of comfort speaking with executives and developers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in medical device hardware and software development practices.
• Familiar with ML/AI technologies that utilize Large Language Models for voice-driven workflows.
