Principle Project Engineer -Systems Test Equipment (Onsite)

This role will support Propulsion Electrification programs and lab activities within the Electric Power Systems value stream including 'The Grid' - the most advanced electric power systems lab in the industry. The System Integration Test Equipment team is looking for a Principal Project Engineer to develop project plans and budgets, pursue cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability, and monitor project performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex projects, working with a cross-functional team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineers
• Create and maintain project schedules and budget forecast for new system development programs, as well as capital projects
• Identify and reacts to project issues and recommends solutions
• Manage work packages and schedule with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
• Provide metrics and associated analysis to the program office for periodic Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting
• Work closely with the Section Manager to assign project priorities, assign engineering resources to projects, and assess risks
• Lead weekly Project status reviews with team
• Provide project status reports to Senior Management, Program Management and Finance
• Primary focal point between Engineering Test Equipment and internal and external customers

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status)
