About the position

The Print Operator is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and solutions for clients' copy and print needs. This role involves following production processes to produce quality, professionally finished products using various print and production equipment. The operator will also service and troubleshoot copiers and printers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review, prioritize and submit print requests from various sources according to complexity and urgency.
• Ensure that the output is quality checked and accurately meets the instructions as submitted.
• Deliver print jobs within established timeframes and maintain logs of all work submitted and completed, including service logs.
• Perform minor maintenance of reproduction equipment, including solving paper jams and conducting routine cleaning.
• Take meter readings of each duplicating machine daily and monitor inventory of print supplies, including paper and toners.
• Inform clients of estimated completion times, delays in service, or when specific services cannot be provided, and work to resolve complaints to client satisfaction.
• Assist in opening and closing the print center and maintain a neat and professional appearance of the center.
• Make adjustments to image quality using printer software for high-speed, high-volume digital publishing printers and handle special requests for printing.
• Prepare monthly production and volume reports to measure productivity and prepare billing charges.
• Perform additional functions as directed by the Site Manager, such as sending/receiving faxes, document scanning, and preparing mail/packages for shipping.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-5 years of experience working directly in a print center.
• Familiarity with general job functions and minimal understanding of detailed aspects of the job.
• Knowledge of machine operations from low to high volume high-speed duplicating equipment.
• Proficiency in using various reproduction-related equipment and systems, including fax, scanner, punches, staplers, inserters, folders, paper cutters, spiral-binding, velo-binders, stitchers, and collators.
• Ability to work under close supervision with detailed instructions and constant checking on work performance.
• Excellent customer service skills and a professional attitude and appearance.
• Ability to work overtime and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills.
