About the position

The Print Production Assistant position at Roosevelt High School is designed for students who are eager to gain hands-on experience in graphic design and print production. The role involves assisting with various print projects, collaborating with team members, and ensuring the quality and timely completion of print materials. Ideal candidates will have a passion for design, familiarity with design software, and a willingness to learn about printing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members on the design and layout of print materials.
• Assist in operating and maintaining printing equipment.
• Contribute to the production of various print projects, including posters, banners, and promotional materials.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of printed materials.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate print job requirements and deadlines.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory of print supplies.
• Prepare digital files for printing, including formatting, resolution adjustments, and color management.
• Understand the step-by-step process of print production, from receiving a design file to the final printed product, including quality control checks.

Requirements

• Enthusiasm for graphic design and print production.
• Familiarity with design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new printing technologies.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining various printing equipment, including printers, copiers, and screen printers.
• Fundamental understanding of graphic design principles, including layout, typography, color theory, and image manipulation.
• Knowledge about different types of paper, ink, and other printing materials.

Nice-to-haves

• Enrollment in Media Arts courses are preferred.
• Successful completion of Digital Media or Foundations of Design, Multimedia Arts, & Digital Communication.
