The Department of Business Services at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a Print Production Manager to oversee daily operations and provide supervision to staff while ensuring the effective use of resources to produce high-quality printed materials in a timely manner. The Print Production Manager will play a crucial role in achieving the department's goals by managing production activities across the main facility and satellite copy centers, which includes overseeing Estimating, Order Entry, Prepress, Offset Press Operations, Digital Operations, Finishing Operations, Bulk Mailing, Wide Format Printing, fulfillment, and delivery. In this role, the Print Production Manager will provide direct supervision to working supervisors and leads, while also being indirectly responsible for other production personnel. They will coordinate charge-back and expense reporting, data collection, and physical inventory maintenance with the departmental business office. The goals for this position will be established in coordination with the Senior Director of Print Services, and the manager will be expected to work independently to achieve these objectives. The Print Production Manager will also be responsible for ensuring efficient workflow processes, enforcing quality control procedures, maintaining equipment, implementing workflow software/tools, and fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages continuous learning and skill development. Excellent customer service standards will also be a priority to meet or exceed customer expectations.
