About the position

As a PCB Drafter at Lockheed Martin, you will be integral to the design and development of electrical parts and functional assemblies using advanced CAD tool software. This role allows for a hybrid work environment, where you can work both remotely and at a designated Lockheed Martin office in Liverpool, New York. Your primary responsibilities will include creating and developing electrical components, supporting the documentation of Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs), and ensuring that all drawings and assemblies are accurate and adhere to project timelines and budgets. You will also be responsible for acting as a Drafting Checker, ensuring the quality of drawings produced by other drafting personnel, and completing additional basic electrical duties as assigned. In this position, you will need to demonstrate the ability to work independently while receiving general direction. Your work will be reviewed for technical soundness and overall adequacy. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders. A moderate understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering design techniques, and materials related to Electronic Packaging is also required. Leadership skills and applied knowledge of drafting standards will be crucial for your success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Create and develop electrical parts and functional assemblies using appropriate CAD tool software.
  • Support the creation of Printed Wiring Board (PWB) documentation, overseeing drawing details performed by others.
  • Maintain drawing status of all details and assemblies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project schedules and costs.
  • Act as a Drafting Checker as needed, ensuring the quality and accuracy of medium complexity drawings generated by other Drafting personnel.
  • Complete additional basic electrical duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of Drafting experience.
  • 2-year Technical Degree, AAS Degree in Electrical or Drafting Technologies or apprentice program graduate or equivalent.
  • Applied knowledge of IEEE Drafting Standards as well as a general understanding of ASME Drafting Standards.
  • PWB Design experience in Placement, Route, and Documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Configuration Management
  • IPC Certification for PWB Designer a plus
  • Experience with Cadence, Mentor, Zuken and Altium for PWB placement and routing
  • Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of Zuken CR-8000, Cadence, Mentor Board station and Xpedition, Altium
