Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED combined with experience and knowledge in litho printing (7 colors)
  • Ability to learn printing software associated with presses
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to distinguish color nuances
  • Strong mechanical aptitudes
  • Must be available to work on 12 hours shifts covering 7 days (1 weekend every second week)
  • Must have a Health and Safety mindset and know about LOTO, chemicals / hazardous products handling, etc
  • Good reading and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Operates Litho press to produce printed cartons for food related packaging products according to specifications
  • Manage paper roll preparation, run paper through the press and make adjustments
  • Start press and perform trial runs to validate accuracy of machine setups
  • Operate the press, monitor numerous controls, make adjustments (colors set up, ink, speed, etc)
  • Make tooling adjustments and performs change over on the press
  • Produce lithographic plates as necessary
  • Observe and monitor numerous controls points to ensure efficient process and to detect any malfunction or deviation
  • Take actions to troubleshoot and solve problems during operation
  • Monitor quality of products and take actions to prevent deviation from appropriate standards
  • Keep the press and press area clean
  • Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) of the press and assist mechanic during maintenance
  • Work in accordance with Safety, HACCP and SQF requirements
