The Privacy Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and development of privacy and data protection objectives for Ameris Bank. The Privacy Analyst will collaborate closely with various business partners to assess privacy risks, communicate necessary requirements, and recommend appropriate controls and remediation activities. This role is essential in ensuring that Ameris Bank not only complies with privacy laws and regulations but also actively promotes a culture of privacy awareness and responsibility among its employees. The Privacy Analyst will provide subject matter expertise in privacy for different business units within Ameris Bank. This includes the ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams to integrate privacy policy and standard requirements effectively. The role requires proficiency in problem-solving to enable business objectives while applying privacy and risk management principles. The Privacy Analyst will conduct risk management and assessment operations, generating report data for management to inform decision-making. Additionally, the analyst will support privacy and security activities that strengthen the protection of customer information, identify trends in privacy reporting, and support data subject action requests in alignment with relevant privacy laws and regulations. Furthermore, the Privacy Analyst will conduct investigations into suspected violations of privacy laws and policies, maintain documentation of privacy policies, standards, and procedures, and engage with legal and privacy leadership to recommend policies and practices that significantly impact the organization's privacy function. Participation in various projects and initiatives as assigned is also a key responsibility of this role.
