The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking a Privacy Analyst to join the Data Privacy and Reporting Section within the Data Analytics Division. This position is classified as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) and is pivotal in supporting the implementation and adherence to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Information Protection Act. The AGPA will engage in a variety of complex assignments that include program evaluation, policy analysis, systems development, and management analysis. This role is essential for ensuring that the department's policies and procedures align with state and federal regulations regarding data privacy and security. As a member of the Data Governance Branch-Data Privacy Unit, the AGPA will collaborate with various branches within the Enterprise Data and Information Management (EDIM) program. The responsibilities will include providing consultative services to management, assisting in the development of departmental policies, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. The AGPA will also be involved in budgeting and planning activities, contributing to the overall management of data privacy initiatives within the department.
