The Privacy Analyst at Jackson Health System plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization's compliance with federal and state privacy regulations, as well as contractual obligations. Reporting directly to the Chief Privacy Officer, the Privacy Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization in adhering to various privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA. This position is essential in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of patient information, which is a cornerstone of the healthcare system's operations. In this role, the Privacy Analyst will assist with investigations of privacy incidents, which includes conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, and developing comprehensive reports that document findings and resolutions. The analyst will also be involved in completing breach risk assessments following investigative findings that may necessitate patient notification letters. It is critical for the analyst to document breach notification events and notify the Office for Civil Rights as required by law. The Privacy Analyst will develop and maintain effective communication pathways across various departments within the organization, including Administrative Leadership, Human Resources, Legal, Operations, Information Security, Health Information Management, and Clinical Leaders and Staff. This collaboration is vital for the successful implementation of plans that address changes to processes, procedures, training, and monitoring of new regulations impacting compliance with privacy laws. Additionally, the analyst will participate in the ongoing compliance monitoring of trading partner relationships and business associate agreements to ensure that all privacy concerns and responsibilities are adequately addressed. The role also involves assisting with the review and revision of organizational privacy educational training programs and preparing privacy reports for organizational leadership. The Privacy Analyst is expected to enhance their professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Furthermore, the analyst is expected to model behaviors that reflect the organization's CARE values: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Expertise, while performing other related duties as assigned.
