About the position

As a Privacy Analyst at Crunchyroll, you will centralize and lead the data privacy program across our subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with global data protection laws. This role involves managing data privacy processes, maintaining privacy technologies, and serving as the primary contact for privacy-related inquiries. You will play a critical role in making our data privacy efforts scalable and efficient as the company grows.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage data privacy processes including GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Process data privacy requests and cases efficiently using OneTrust.
  • Handle third-party deletion requests in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide detailed workflows to assist engineering teams in creating automations or create these workflows yourself.
  • Update data maps and ensure data deletion flows are current with business growth.
  • Act as the official point of contact for internal and external data privacy inquiries, partnerships, and escalations.
  • Drive the prioritization and development of automation and technology solutions to enhance data privacy processes.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure data privacy documentation, workflows, and logs are compliant with legal standards.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Product, Engineering, and CX teams to inform data privacy workflows.
  • Standardize data privacy workflows and technologies across various teams.
  • Support the GRC and Privacy Programs as needed.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in data privacy operations or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of global data protection laws including GDPR, CCPA, and LGPD.
  • Experience with data privacy management tools such as OneTrust.
  • Experience with data management, architecture, and system integrations.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with various teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in a global consumer environment.
  • Certification in data privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, or CIPM).
  • Experience in automation and integrating privacy technology solutions.
  • Prior experience in handling regulatory audits and compliance checks.
