About the position

We are in search of a Privacy Analyst in the automotive industry, based in Torrance, CA. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. The Privacy Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and safeguarding privacy rights, conducting privacy compliance business analysis, governance, and maintaining compliance expertise. The role will involve collaboration with multiple teams, document creation, and research. The Privacy Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to privacy regulations and best practices, while also advocating for privacy by design principles across various business operations. This position requires a proactive approach to privacy management, with a focus on continuous learning and adaptation to evolving privacy standards and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT and customer service teams to process and fulfill Individual Rights Requests.
  • Work closely with IT to enhance user experience and interface related to consumer-data privacy touchpoints.
  • Support annual updates and publication of Privacy Notice.
  • Collaborate with operations and project teams to document privacy-related customer-experience flows and requirements, review designs, and support implementation.
  • Advocate for Privacy by Design by engaging with various business operations teams to educate and consult.
  • Support unit's communications in key governance channels and promote privacy policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for document creation such as meeting materials & minutes, reports, maintaining backlogs, tracking project deliverables, documenting requirement sessions, decision logs, risk/action/issue logs, and research.
  • Assist in benchmarking privacy best practices with industry groups.
  • Demonstrate continuous learning through training, participation in industry resource groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Management, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year privacy or business experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Work planning and project management experience in an Agile environment preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint) preferred.
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid model.
