About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Privacy and Data Governance Analyst. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our data is governed accurately, securely, and in compliance with our policies. This analyst will manage the cultural and organizational change necessary to adopt and sustain Datadog's Data Governance Framework. Acting as a bridge between the technical teams (such as IT and data management teams) and business stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of data governance. In this role, you will drive Datadog's Data Governance Framework and Program, ensuring it meets current and future organizational needs. You will work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of Datadog's technical and risk landscape, and continuously iterate and improve the Data Governance Program requirements to align with our risk appetite. You will assess the usage of data to ensure it is consistently managed in accordance with Datadog standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements, including appropriate handling, protection, and safeguarding throughout the data lifecycle. Additionally, you will digest complex privacy and data governance requests from stakeholders, identify key risks, and develop concrete recommendations, including technical design guidance in collaboration with subject matter experts, to reduce the risk to Datadog. You will also support daily operational privacy and data governance work, including data usage request intake and review, vendor reviews, compliance documentation, data subject rights requests management, privacy complaints, and privacy risk assessments. Furthermore, you will develop deep technical authority on resolution practices, articulating capabilities and processes to multiple levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in the privacy, data management, and governance space.
  • Keen eye for detail and strong writing ability to document system designs, data flows, processes, and policies related to data processing.
  • Experience in day-to-day privacy program operations, with the ability to identify and escalate risks and issues to leadership appropriately.
  • Strong understanding of the current landscape and experience with privacy and data governance frameworks, specifically with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, ISO 27701, ISO 38500, DMBOK, etc.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and product development frameworks.
  • Desire to work in a fast, high-growth environment.

  • Project management experience.
