About the position

The Privacy Legal Advisor and Analyst is responsible for conducting privacy assessments, monitoring compliance with privacy standards, and supporting the development of processes and controls to protect sensitive data. This role involves reviewing legal documents, providing operational advice on privacy risks, and working with new privacy technologies and policies to ensure a secure infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft and/or update privacy, data protection, and IT policies and frameworks.
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop presentations, policies, standards, and processes to mitigate privacy risks.
  • Conduct outreach on privacy and data protection.
  • Support privacy technology or policy user groups to enhance knowledge of new privacy technologies and policies.
  • Develop and conduct privacy training for state employees and contractors.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal privacy and data protection laws.
  • Experience creating and providing privacy training and awareness.
  • Experience responding to privacy incidents.
  • Ability to perform regulatory, contract, and legal analysis.
  • Experience providing strategic advice based on complex privacy issues.
