About the position

The Privacy Program Manager (PPM) at TikTok is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the privacy and data protection initiatives within the product team. This role involves managing complex projects, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. The PPM will work closely with product managers, engineers, and legal teams to identify and mitigate privacy risks, while also documenting processes and timelines in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about project management and has a strong understanding of privacy and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex projects with tight timelines and work with internal stakeholders to establish roadmaps and communicate timelines and deliverables.
• Manage product feature launch review process in close collaboration with product managers and legal team.
• Partner with global counterparts across product, engineers, legal and others to identify and mitigate key risks in privacy by design process.
• Enhance TikTok privacy maturity by strengthening privacy by design and compliance review process.
• Develop a strong understanding of business and technical requirements and obligations for compliance and data protection.

Requirements

• 5+ years of project management experience, preferably managing large scale global projects.
• Experience with compliance, privacy, and risk management is highly recommended.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to navigate across multiple teams, countries, and cultures.

Nice-to-haves

• Capable of driving large scale compliance and privacy projects by breaking down milestones and defining action plans for various teams.
• Solid understanding of product development process with extensive experience working with engineers and product teams.
