About the position

The Privacy Program Manager will support the privacy program for the Client and its subsidiaries, requiring extensive collaboration across various teams including product, research, engineering, policy, operations, and legal experts. The role focuses on facilitating individual privacy rights, advising on organizational controls, and responding to inquiries from users and regulators, all within a dynamic legal team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support team to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive privacy programs, policies, and procedures for Client and its subsidiaries.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with data protection laws, including CCPA, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
  • Support building and managing the privacy program.
  • Perform enterprise privacy assessments, identify gaps, and develop remediation plans to implement remediations.
  • Work cross-functionally with legal, business, product, and engineering teams to support the completion of privacy risk assessments (PIA, DPIA, LIA).
  • Support implementation of new privacy laws.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to improve risk assessment questionnaires and processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure privacy considerations are integrated into product development, data management, and business processes.
  • Monitor changes in privacy laws, regulations, and standards, and support updating the privacy program as necessary.
  • Act as point of contact in coordinating, tracking, and enhancing communication with business throughout DPA reviews.
  • Other responsibilities for Client and subsidiaries as assigned.

Requirements

  • JD or foreign equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with and solid knowledge of privacy laws applicable to businesses in the US and Canada: CCPA, CPRA, GDPR, LGPD, PIPEDA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, as well as other US State and federal privacy and data security and global data protection laws.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and partnering with legal, business, information security, human resources, data governance, risk management, and engineering teams.
  • Ability to support urgent matters and collaborate on time-sensitive matters as needs arise.
  • Privacy program management experience. Experience with privacy tools is a plus.
  • Certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP/US and/or CIPM, CIPP/T, or CIPP/E) preferred.
