About the position

The User Privacy team at Apple is seeking a dedicated engineer with a strong passion for test development. This role is crucial in ensuring that the robust privacy protections embedded in Apple's platforms are maintained across every release and build. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for collaborating with various teams throughout the company to develop automated test plans that cover the privacy functionality of features across all Apple products, including Siri, Maps, App Store, and UIKit. Your work will have a significant impact on software features that affect millions of customers and developers worldwide. In this position, you will need to be self-motivated and possess strong technical and communication skills. Your responsibilities will include working closely with other teams to create automated test plans for iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS. You will design, implement, and hand off automated tests to teams as necessary, ensuring that privacy features are thoroughly tested. Additionally, you will conduct risk analysis and integration testing across Apple platforms, contributing to the overall quality and reliability of Apple's software products. This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver who is interested in developing high-quality software. You will need to triage problems effectively, prioritize tasks, and propose resolutions independently. A keen eye for detail is essential, as is the ability to raise issues and take corrective action when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other teams on their automated test plans for iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS.
  • Design, implement, and hand off automated tests to teams as necessary.
  • Integrate with server-side components as appropriate.
  • Conduct risk analysis and integration testing across Apple platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience writing code in Objective C or Swift to test an API, SDK, or Frameworks.
  • Experience developing for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and/or tvOS with XCTest and Xcode.
  • Experience developing various forms of software tests (unit, functional, performance, stress).
  • Experience in driving development and deployment of continuous integration systems.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with interest in developing quality software.
  • Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution.
  • Ability to work independently, raise issues and take corrective action.
  • Keen eye for detail.
