About the position

The Privacy QA Engineer position at Apple is a critical role within the User Privacy team, focusing on ensuring that the robust privacy protections embedded in Apple's platforms are maintained across all releases and builds. The engineer will collaborate with various teams across the organization to develop and implement automated test plans for privacy functionality in products such as Siri, Maps, App Store, and UIKit. The role involves working at all levels of the software stack, ensuring that privacy features are thoroughly tested and validated before reaching millions of customers and developers worldwide. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and handing off automated tests to different teams as necessary. This includes integrating with server-side components and conducting risk analysis and integration testing across Apple's diverse platforms, including iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS. The engineer will play a vital role in driving the development and deployment of continuous integration systems, ensuring that privacy functionality is not only present but also functioning as intended in every software release. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong analytical mindset, allowing them to identify potential issues and propose effective resolutions. They will need to be detail-oriented and possess creative problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to triage problems and prioritize tasks effectively. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other teams on their automated test plans for iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS.
  • Design, implement, and hand off automated tests to teams as necessary.
  • Integrate with server-side components as appropriate.
  • Conduct risk analysis and integration testing across Apple platforms.
  • Drive the development and deployment of continuous integration systems.

Requirements

  • Experience writing code in Objective C or Swift to test an API, SDK, or Frameworks.
  • Experience developing for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and/or tvOS with XCTest and Xcode.
  • Experience developing various forms of software tests (unit, functional, performance, stress).
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with an interest in developing quality software.
  • Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution.
  • Ability to work independently, raise issues, and take corrective action.
