About the position

Stifel Bank & Trust is seeking a motivated Credit Analyst to join its Private Bank Lending team. This role involves supporting the underwriting and structuring of lending transactions for Ultra-High Net Worth individuals and Family Offices. The Credit Analyst will engage in the end-to-end credit process, contributing to the growth and capabilities of the team while managing portfolio risk and ensuring high-quality service to sophisticated clients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate collateral assets including public securities, alternative investments, real estate, and luxury assets.
• Research collateral and perform risk analysis on financial and market data.
• Review financial statements to assess the credit quality of borrowers.
• Assist in preparing credit risk memorandums, term sheets, and loan documentation.
• Conduct annual and quarterly reviews of existing loans in the portfolio.
• Prepare and execute renewal and amendment requests, addressing client ad hoc requests.
• Track loan reporting requirements and covenants proactively.
• Coordinate loan administration with Financial Advisors and other stakeholders.
• Maintain knowledge of borrowers and collateral through ongoing research.
• Support portfolio monitoring and risk management efforts.
• Assist in developing applications/tools/models for loan book data analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of commercial credit analyst work or related experience; 1-2 years of credit or financial experience preferred.
• Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, and banking.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with VBA, SQL, or other programming/scripting languages.
• Experience with Bloomberg or other market data applications.
