About the position

The Private Bank Lending Credit Analyst I position at Stifel Bank & Trust involves supporting the underwriting and structuring of lending transactions for Ultra-High Net Worth individuals and Family Offices. The role is integral to the Private Bank Lending team, which collaborates with Financial Advisors to provide tailored lending solutions. The Credit Analyst will engage in credit risk analysis, loan documentation, and portfolio management, contributing to the team's growth and effectiveness in serving sophisticated clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support the underwriting and structuring of new lending transactions.
  • Engage in lifecycle management of existing loans and portfolio risk management efforts.
  • Conduct diligence and evaluate collateral assets, including public securities and real estate.
  • Research collateral and perform risk analysis on various assets.
  • Review financial statements to assess the credit quality of borrowers.
  • Assist in preparing credit risk memorandums, term sheets, and loan documentation.
  • Prepare annual and quarterly reviews on existing loans in the portfolio.
  • Track loan reporting requirements and covenants proactively.
  • Coordinate loan administration with Financial Advisors and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge of borrowers and collateral through ongoing research.
  • Support ongoing portfolio monitoring and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in developing applications/tools/models to analyze loan book data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of commercial credit analyst work or related experience; 1-2 years of credit or financial experience preferred.
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Ability to drive and sustain focus throughout complex projects.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with VBA, SQL, or other programming/scripting languages.
  • Experience with Bloomberg or other market data applications.
