About the position

The Private Banking Advisor at CIBC is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and introducing new private wealth management relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, endowments, and foundations. This role focuses on growth through new relationships and the expansion of existing ones, working closely with a team of specialists to deliver a cohesive value proposition to clients. The advisor serves as a trusted partner, guiding clients through wealth management solutions and ensuring a high level of service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, source, and lead new high-net-worth client relationships utilizing CIBC's Private Wealth Platform.
  • Serve as the lead overall strategy of the relationship, acting as a trusted advisor while collaborating with specialists.
  • Focus on external calling and marketing to attract new clients.
  • Ensure weekly CRM/Salesforce accuracy for pipeline and calls.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships and teamwork for seamless service delivery.
  • Cultivate relationships with referral sources and centers of influence to build business.
  • Guide client conversations for life-driven wealth management through proactive advice.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Wealth Advisory solutions including banking products, asset management, and estate planning.
  • Identify opportunities for relationship expansion across all CIBC lines of business.
  • Contribute to CIBC Wealth Management growth through the acquisition of new high-net-worth clients.
  • Develop and maintain personal referral source networks for business prospects.
  • Understand and comply with internal policies for prudent risk management.
  • Invest, mentor, and assist in the growth and development of others.
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners and external advisors to identify client needs and develop solutions.
  • Travel to meet with clients as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in high-net-worth wealth management or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development and relationship management.
  • Knowledge of credit, lending, investment strategy, trust administration, and wealth management solutions.
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or advanced degree or certification (MBA, JD, CFP, CFA, etc.) preferred.
