About the position

The Private Banking Regional Manager for the East Region at CIBC is responsible for leading and managing a team of private bankers and advisors. This role focuses on driving growth through sales leadership, sourcing new business opportunities, and collaborating with internal partners to meet growth expectations in loans, deposits, and overall profitability. The manager will also play a key role in client acquisition and retention, ensuring a positive work environment and effective team performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, grow, and manage a team of experienced private bankers and advisors.
  • Develop and implement growth plans focused on loans, deposits, AUM, and overall revenue.
  • Participate in new client acquisition and retention efforts.
  • Manage balance sheet, profit loss, and risk management metrics for private banking.
  • Recruit and manage a team to drive client acquisition and retention.
  • Create a positive work environment and serve as a role model for the team.
  • Organize client acquisition campaigns and partner with internal organizations.
  • Ensure consistency in deal structuring and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with peers and mentor junior team members.
  • Establish best practice client activity guidelines and track metrics.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing lending, deposit, and asset management relationships with high net worth clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in credit expertise and investment portfolios.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced financial analysis skills.
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Formal credit training is a plus.
  • Experience in a team environment with high net worth individuals.
