About the position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) at Aveanna Healthcare is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients, primarily in a homecare setting. This role emphasizes a flexible schedule, manageable caseloads, and the opportunity for professional growth while ensuring high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
- Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs, reporting changes to the supervisor or physician.
- Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and coordination of care in a timely manner.
- Participate in the implementation and updating of the nursing care plan.
- Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.
- Recognize changes in patient needs requiring intervention and implement care to prevent or reduce risk.
- Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Utilize infection control measures according to OSHA standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of nursing competencies through educational programs and skill evaluations.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies.
Nice-to-haves
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting.
- Home health experience.
