About the position
The Private Equity Accountant at Ironwood Capital is responsible for managing various accounting functions within a private equity firm that specializes in providing growth capital to middle market companies. This role requires a strong background in accounting, proficiency in relevant software, and excellent organizational and communication skills. The accountant will work closely with the controller and contribute to financial reporting, compliance, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and input journal entries
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Process accounts receivable and cash receipts
- Process accounts payable and cash disbursements
- Assist with tax compliance and reporting
- Assist with quarterly budgeting and forecasting
- Responsibilities relating to human resources and employee benefits
- Administrative duties including maintaining supply inventories, office equipment, etc.
- Assist with internal projects
- Perform other duties as requested including managing relationship with 3rd party IT firm
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain a professional demeanor
