About the position

The Private Equity Fund Accountant will play a crucial role in a global investment management firm based in Boston, overseeing treasury and fund accounting functions. This position involves coordinating internal operations and managing external service providers to ensure accurate fund accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of the external fund administrator's books including journal entries, accruals, and fee calculations
  • Monitor and reconcile cash activity
  • Coordinate period-end timelines for closing of books and investor reporting
  • Manage the approval and processing of wire payments
  • Lead the valuation process for certain assets
  • Track ongoing and anticipated expenses and assist with budgeting projections
  • Prepare and review materials and responses to follow-up requests during the annual audit and tax processes
  • Assist in ad hoc projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in fund accounting
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted for the COVID-19 virus
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting needs in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Utilize discretion when handling confidential information
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and CRM systems

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish
  • Team player who can work cross functionally with limited supervision
