About the position

Alter Domus is currently seeking a new Fund Accountant to join our Private Equity Fund Services Team at our Salt Lake or Ogden, Utah office. This is a hybrid position where you will work 8 times a month in the office, specifically twice a week. As a Fund Accountant, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the preparation of financial statements, investor statements, contribution/redemption confirmations, K-1s, capital calls, distributions, audited financials, and other investor communications. Your responsibilities will also include entering daily and monthly deliverables by recording journal entries, wires, loan statements, and posting/reconciling trades. You will have the opportunity to interact with clients to enhance relationships and demonstrate a dedication to meeting client deadlines. This position requires a proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. You will also be expected to communicate with tax team members and managers regarding any questions or issues that arise with client work. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and investor statements.
  • Prepare contribution/redemption confirmations, K-1s, capital calls, and distributions.
  • Compile audited financials and other investor communications.
  • Enter daily and monthly deliverables by recording journal entries, wires, and loan statements.
  • Post and reconcile trades accurately.
  • Enhance client relationships through effective communication and dedication to meeting deadlines.
  • Handle other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (BA or MAcc) or finance.
  • Looking to pursue a career in accounting.
  • Experience in accounting is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong work ethic and responsiveness.
  • Excellent team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with team members and manager remotely.
  • Highly organized and proactive with follow-through on commitments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in accounting is preferred but not necessary.
