About the position

Alter Domus is currently seeking a new Fund Accountant to join our Private Equity Fund Administration team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and tracking daily cash contributions and distributions for investment fund clients. You will need to demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and complete work with little direction. Time-management skills are essential, as you will be expected to develop and execute specific goals within an agreed-upon timeframe. Additionally, you will handle daily case activities and notices on assigned funds, obtain approval on correcting discrepancies and missing information, and prepare cash and journal entries. Participation in quarterly and annual audit functions is also a key responsibility, along with understanding the governing agreements between Alter Domus and the client.

Responsibilities

  • Process and track daily cash contributions and distributions for investment fund clients

Requirements

  • High-performing accounting graduate
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • CPA, or intention to obtain CPA, preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Background in private equity or public financial services a plus
