About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Private Mortgage Banking Sales Manager (SAFE) in Consumer Lending as part of Home Lending. In this role, you will be responsible for coaching, directing, and managing the sales activities of a small group of residential Home Mortgage Consultants (at a minimum of 3 and maximum of 7 sales origination direct reports) under the direction of a Private Mortgage Banking Manager. You will supervise individual contributors by directing and managing sales activities to ensure high levels of customer service, timely completion, quality, and compliance in private mortgage retail sales. Your responsibilities will include producing high-quality loans that meet Wells Fargo Home Mortgage guidelines by building relationships with realtors, builders, financial planners, bank stores, wealth management teams, past customers, and other nontraditional sources while providing excellent customer service. You will also make supervisory decisions and resolve issues related to team supervision, work allocation, and daily operations under the direction of Private Mortgage Retail Sales management. Additionally, you will leverage interpretation of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements while negotiating terms and taking applications for dwelling-secured transactions. Identifying opportunities for process improvement and risk control development in less complex functional areas will also be part of your role. You will be responsible for the selection, evaluation, and development of staff within the Private Mortgage Retail Sales functional area, manage personal and team's pipeline to effectively manage customer loyalty, and interact directly with external customers as well as collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and multiple managers. Finally, you will manage the allocation of people and financial resources for Private Mortgage Retail Sales and develop and maintain a high degree of visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the marketplace.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Private Mortgage Banking Sales experience or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience.

  • Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals.
  • Documented retail residential mortgage fundings over the past 12 months from established local sources.

  • A BS/BA degree or higher.
  • 1+ year of data analysis experience.
  • 1+ year of recruiting experience.
  • Experience working with ultra-high net-worth clients.
