About the position

The Private Wealth Advisor at FineMark National Bank is responsible for managing and administering complex trust relationships, focusing on prudent fiduciary risk management and client relationship growth. This role requires a high level of expertise in trust administration, estate planning, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, with no oversight from others.

Responsibilities

  • Administers trust accounts in accordance with governing instruments and laws.
  • Monitors and reviews account retention and documents client communications.
  • Participates in and monitors the financial planning process.
  • Ensures timely completion of Trust Account Reviews and accurate setup of new accounts.
  • Processes discretionary distributions and reviews legal documents for account titling.
  • Conducts Trust Lending Reviews for loans made to Trust and Entity Borrowers.
  • Fields and reviews legal-related issues arising in offices.
  • Supports the development of existing relationships and facilitates new business efforts.
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory, fiduciary law, tax law, and economic environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing trust accounts for a wealth management company.
  • Juris Doctor degree required.
  • Proven experience in managing large and complex trust accounts.
  • Deep understanding of complex financial instruments and estate planning.
  • Extensive knowledge of trust laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and oversee complex trust accounts.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex financial statements and legal documents.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for high-net-worth clients.
  • Strong attention to detail in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Advanced ability to resolve complex issues related to trust administration.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA preferred.
  • Master's Degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • Advanced certifications such as CTFA or CFP preferred.
