About The Position

We’re hiring talented professionals on an as-needed basis! This opportunity gives you the freedom to accept projects that fit your schedule while contributing to exciting and impactful work. We are seeking a certified Construction Engineer Level 2 to serve as the primary liaison between contractors and the engineer in observing and monitoring on-site work. This is a PRN (as-needed) position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Professional Engineers (PE) License in Ohio
• ODOT Construction Engineer 2 (CE2) credential
• Proficient in MS Office and computer-aided design

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inspection of project work
• Ensure work performed by contractors is in compliance with all state and federal specifications
• Correlate and analyze field data, review plans and records, support and prepare change orders
• Assist with dispute resolution, estimates, conduct progress meetings, prepare meeting minutes and other related duties
• Finalize or assist with finalizing and closing out the project
• Perform data entry into ODOT’s CMS/SITE MANAGER system or local documentation equivalent as directed by the project engineer or LPA person in responsible
