About the position

As a PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 at Omnicell, you will play a vital role in supporting the Pharmacy Service Operation Team. This position is critical for ensuring the seamless daily dispensing of all sterile compounded medications from Omnicell's advanced automated IV equipment. You will be responsible for various tasks including equipment management, maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting, as well as material management and movement. Your role will also involve managing optimal medication inventory levels, diligently reviewing and updating documentation, and effectively communicating with customers to build strong relationships. In this dynamic position, you will perform IV automation tasks in an aseptic, error-free manner, consistent with standard operating procedures. You will conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance of IV automation equipment, follow safe handling procedures for hazardous drugs, and monitor and order medications to ensure optimal inventory levels. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing basic troubleshooting and standard maintenance of IV automation equipment, reporting unresolved issues to the IV Technical Assistance Center (TAC), and maintaining a high level of communication with the pharmacy operations manager and customers to ensure proactive problem identification and resolution. Your commitment to customer satisfaction will be paramount as you align the Pharmacy Services Program to provide customer-focused support, emphasizing quality, professionalism, and responsiveness. You will also conduct training and ensure compliance with all Pharmacy Services procedures and policies, maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses, and adhere to corporate card procedures as per Omnicell travel policies. Maintaining national certification and all state-required credentialing will also be part of your responsibilities. As a subject matter expert, you will provide training and assistance to Omnicell team members to ensure optimal workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Perform IV automation tasks in an aseptic, error-free manner, consistent with standard operating procedures.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly IV automation equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.
  • Identify and order medications to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitor and order consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and standard maintenance of IV automation equipment and report unresolved issues to the IV TAC.
  • Complete fingertip and media fill sampling.
  • Maintain high communication with pharmacy operations manager and customers for proactive problem identification and resolution.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by aligning the Pharmacy Services Program to provide quality support.
  • Conduct training and ensure compliance with all Pharmacy Services procedures and policies.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses and adhere to corporate card procedures.
  • Comply with reasonable procedures, policies, and guidelines established by the Customer facility.
  • Maintain national certification and all state-required credentialing.
  • Act as a resource or SME for Omnicell team members, providing training and assistance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of IV compounding.
  • Current active PTCB Certification or NHA: CPhT/EXCPT.
  • State Pharmacy Technician Registration/License for state of FL (If Applicable).

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of IV Compounding experience.
  • Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques.
  • Working knowledge of sterile environment requirements.
  • Completed an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
  • 2 years previous experience in hospital pharmacy automation.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills with automation devices.
  • Automation implementation experience.
