About the position

Youth Villages is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping troubled youth and families achieve successful lives. With a team of 2,900 individuals across 12 states, we are committed to transforming the landscape of child welfare and juvenile justice in the United States. Our organization provides a wide range of counseling and treatment services to youth facing severe emotional and behavioral challenges. Remarkably, 84% of the youth who complete our treatment programs are thriving two years later, living at home, staying in school, and avoiding legal troubles. We believe in investing in our employees and offer opportunities for career development, allowing them to be part of a positive change in the treatment of at-risk youth and families. As a Community Based Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing in-home counseling services to at-risk youth and their families. This position requires managing a small caseload as assigned by a supervisor, meeting with families three times a week to address their unique needs. You will also provide after-hours support, collaborate with various stakeholders including teachers and community members, and utilize a strengths-based approach in your counseling practice. Weekly meetings for professional development will be part of your routine, enhancing your clinical skills as guided by your supervisor. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, designed around the availability of the families you serve, making this a PRN, as-needed position.
