About the position
The In Home Caregiver position at Homewatch CareGivers of Northeast Garland involves providing essential personal care and support to clients in their homes. The role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the well-being of clients, and offering companionship. Caregivers will work flexible hours and are expected to maintain a high standard of care while fostering a supportive environment for clients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene.
- Preparing meals and assisting with grocery shopping.
- Overseeing medication usage and reminders, as well as managing doctor appointments.
- Providing mobility assistance and helping clients transfer between locations such as wheelchairs and vehicles.
- Offering companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Transporting clients to appointments and running errands.
- Monitoring health and following care plans, reporting any changes in health status.
- Helping with home organization, light housekeeping, and laundry.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year caregiving experience.
- CPR Certification and First Aid Certification.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
- Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
- Good time management skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic and physical endurance.
