About the position

The Medical Assistant (MA) with LMR at Baptist Health plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare staff and physicians by collecting essential patient information, performing diagnostic procedures, and providing direct patient care to individuals of all ages. This position is part of a collaborative healthcare team, ensuring that both physical and psychological needs of patients are addressed effectively. The role requires a combination of medical knowledge, technical skills, and compassionate patient interaction.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff and physicians by collecting pertinent patient information.
• Perform selected treatments and diagnostic procedures, including chest and extremity x-rays.
• Provide direct patient care to patients of all ages.
• Function as a member of the healthcare team, adhering to educational preparation and demonstrated competencies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Limited Radiographer Certification required (RT license may be considered in place of LMR).
• Medical Assistant experience or education is required.
• BCLS certification is required.
• Minimum of two years of LMR and direct patient care experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a healthcare setting with direct patient interaction.
• Additional certifications related to medical assisting.
