About the position

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Inpatient Rehab Care team. This role involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, contributing to patient assessments, and assisting with daily living activities. The position is located in Winchester, Tennessee, a city known for its small-town charm and access to outdoor recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as supervised and delegated by a registered nurse.
• Contribute to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• Administer medication as directed.
• Document patient care given and assist RN with the development of the plan of care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service, projects, and committees as assigned.
• Adhere to and support policies and procedures of the STRHS.

Requirements

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse by the State of Tennessee.
• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a stressful environment.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• LPN License for the State of Tennessee.
